PGCast #1 Interview with a Filipino Restaurant Owner in Winkler

So you move to Canada and then realize that you can be a business owner?

Today, I talked with Nina Pinlac-Manuguid, an immigrant from the Philippines that moved to Canada in 2009.

She talks about how it is to have a business in a small city. Nina and her husband run Cucina Filipinas restaurant since last year and it has been a great success not only amongst the Filipino community but also with the Canadians.

Our talk was audio-recorded and then I decided to publish it as the first episode of my podcast, PGCast!

I have to confess that, as an immigrant, it is quite a challenge to try this broadcaster journey. Details like speaking a second language, what type of questions to ask, trying to sound natural, etc. Oh yeah, I was nervous.

I am not a journalist and have never done this before. I guess to try new things and to be pushed further is what a life reset can do to you. This is what Canada is doing to me.

I’m exploring new venues, learning new skills, getting to know what I am capable of. I have a long path ahead of me, lots of improvements to be done, but thank you, Canada, for making me a better person already!

So yes, here it is my podcast, PGCast.
